On Friday, November 21st, 2014, Al Huda Foundation hosted a funeral service for Abdul-Rahman Kassig. Abdul-Rahman, also known as Peter, was an Indianapolis native who was recently killed by the extremist group ISIS in Syria. Abdul-Rahman's parents and many friends of the family attended the service.

The funeral service followed the regular Friday sermon which was delivered by a prominent Syrian cleric, Shaykh Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi. Shaykh Al-Yaqoubi was the Imam of the Grand Umayyad Mosque in Damascus and is considered to be one of the most influential Muslim scholars in the world.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, a prominent Syrian Sunni Islamic scholar and vocal critic of the Islamic State, led prayers at the funeral of American beheading victim Peter Kassig. Chief foreign correspondent Margaret Warner interviews al-Yaqoubi, exiled from his country, about atrocities committed by the Islamic State, why the militant group is able to gain followers and the fight against the Assad regime.

Shaykh Muhammad was forced into exile from Syria following the start of the uprising for speaking out against the Assad regime.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You what is Yours lest I misbehave.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking for what You did not decree to happen; lest I transgress my boundaries.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from supplicating You while I am in a state that is unpleasant to You lest I be rejected.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from calling upon You in a time when You do not allow it, lest I be prevented.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You for what You did not predestine for me.

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You for what You predestined for others.
